Cole & Bella's story is a roller coaster of bad-assery goodness! They start off with a lot of push & pull. Cole knows where his heart is at - with Bella - but Bella is still firmly in the "We can't be together for xyz reasons" camp. They work it out, but that's not anywhere near the end of the story!I love the banter. I love the way Cole is w/ his daughter, Abbott. He's protective of all those he loves - daughter, father (Red) & Bella. Watching Bella's relationship with Abbott & Red evolve through the story, as well as her getting to know the Killers group & their women, forming friendships... Added another highly enjoyable layer to the story.I highly recommend this story! Banter, family, lots of emotion, lots of action & suspense... Really well written & well paced!!: ) Scars is a totally epic romance! It takes me by surprise whenever I sit down with a story by this crazy talented woman, I cannot fly through it. I am a fast reader, it is my hobby, my love, my refuge from real life. I dive into one of Ms Asher's books and I find myself taking a chapter at a time. I can't help but savor it; the awesome characters, the suspense, everything. Bella and Cole's story has been a long time coming and I didn't want to rush. Cole is technically an alpha but he enjoys Bella's ability to kick butt and take names way too much. I love that about him, he doesn't think he has to protect her but that doesn't stop him from wanting to. Bella is crazily stubborn and independent but when she gives her heart, it is for ever and always. I loved every bit of this story, not a thing I would change. The Killers series and Scars in particular is like the show Burn Notice and the James Bond movies had a baby and I adore it! Ten stars for Cole and Bella!
